Write the review you wish you had read.
Do
- Review a business you hired yourself, for a job at a property you own, rent, or manage.
- Describe the estimate, the schedule, communication, the quality of the work, and the cleanup.
- Share the project type and a rough cost range if you are comfortable.
- Add an update later if the work fails, holds up well, or the business fixes a problem.
- Upload proof of the job for a Verified Job stamp. Black out account numbers first.
Do not
- Review your own company, an employer, a relative's business, or a competitor.
- Accept money, discounts, gifts, or contest entries in exchange for a review.
- Post phone numbers, emails, street addresses, license plates, or names of individual workers.
- Threaten, harass, or use hateful language.
- Paste the same review on several businesses, or advertise anything.
For businesses replying
- Reply to the substance. Thank people, explain what happened, and say what you will do.
- Do not reveal a customer's address, price details they did not share, or other private information.
- Do not offer anything in exchange for changing or removing a review.
When a review comes down
Every genuine review publishes, including the harsh ones. A business cannot pay, ask, or argue a review away. Moderators remove a review for these reasons only:
- Threats or harassment. Threats of violence, hate, or attacks on a named worker instead of the work.
- Personal information. Phone numbers, emails, home addresses, license plates, or anything that identifies a private person. The reviewer can edit it out and the review goes back up.
- Proven fakes. Evidence shows the reviewer was never a customer, is a competitor or employee, or was paid or rewarded for the review.
- Spam or not about this business. Advertising, links, copied text, or a review of a different business.
- Legal orders. A court order, or a copyright notice under our copyright policy.
A low rating, a strong opinion, or a business that disagrees is never a reason. Reviews stay up while a business challenge is checked, with a neutral note. Every removal is counted on the business profile and in the transparency report, and the reviewer is told why.
Referral rewards for past customers are allowed as long as they never depend on leaving a review or on what the review says. Paying for reviews is not allowed at all.
